There are many common misconceptions about an artificial grass garden. For example, you might think installing artificial grass limits your landscape design options. However, that is far from the truth. You can still add all the elements you would have used in a living lawn into your artificial grass lawn. This includes adding a variety of vibrant flowers and shady trees. Most living trees and plants thrive in or around artificial grass.


Planting trees in Artificial Grass

Myths that suggest you can’t plant trees in your artificial grass lawn are just plain wrong. In fact, artificial turf is actually a great place to plant a tree. People often consider using artificial grass around trees because they can’t get real grass to grow there. This is because dense tree canopies can make an area too shady for grass to grow and because tree roots can hog all the water and nutrients around them.


Additionally, mowing and weed whacking can also damage tree trunks and roots, leaving them with open wounds that can let pests and disease in. However, this is not a problem when planting living trees in or around artificial turf. We can also install artificial grass around any existing trees, shrubs, or other landscaping you have.

Contrary to common belief, artificial grass is environmentally friendly. What some people don’t realize is that artificial grass installation is also a responsible landscaping option. Once hailed as a drought fix

 Gov. Gavin Newsom last week passed on a chance to limit the use of the so-called “forever chemicals” in legions of plastic products when he vetoed a bill that would have banned them in synthetic lawns. His veto of an environmental bill that overwhelmingly passed the Legislature underscores California’s convoluted guidance on the plastic turf that some homeowners, schools and businesses use in place of grass in a state accustomed to drought. Less than a decade ago then-Gov. Jerry Brown signed a law prohibiting cities and counties from banning synthetic grass. At the time, the state was in the middle of a crippling drought, and fake lawns were thought to be helpful in saving water.
